Why the Bus 🚌 has more seats than a Ferrari 🏎
A rude awakening...
Welcome back!
There's a saying that goes,
"There's a reason why the bus has 30 seats and a Ferrari only has two."
This saying holds a profound truth about the choices we make when it comes to the friends we surround ourselves with, the relationships we have with others.
Now this post is not meant to disrupt friendships or stir up the pot but instead help evaluate our relationships and activities with those around us.
How can our friendships shape our future?
I. Mindset
Let's talk about the "bus passengers" in our lives. No disrespect to anyone who rides the bus, we’ve all ridden it- this isn’t about that.
These are the friends who have grown comfortable with their daily routines, content with where they are in life, and reluctant to learn or try new things.
They often find themselves living in the past, reminiscing about the good old times, and showing little desire for growth or creating new experiences.
These relationships (on your bus) are comfortable sitting on cruise control knowing eventually their stop is coming up.
On the other side of the spectrum is the Ferrari two seater.
A high-performance vehicle made for individuals always seeking new challenges and uncharted territories. Individuals who focus on pursuing their dreams, aspirations, and are not afraid to set ambitious goals doing whatever it takes to achieve them.
These friends feel a need for speed! They put in the work and sacrifice with you to get that Ferrari. Pushing you and challenging you week in and week out to be better.
Are your friendships contributing to your personal growth or are they holding you back?
Let’s reflect on your relationship with others, do they all fit on the bus? Because the Ferrari only has 2 seats.
Tips to reevaluate your circle and engaged activities:
Self-Reflection- take time to reflect on your personal goals and aspirations. Ask yourself whether your current friends and activities align with these goals.
Assess Values- write down your core values and beliefs. Evaluate whether your relationships share these values or not.
Identify Growth-Oriented Relationships- seek out friends who are motivated, ambitious, and already taking steps towards fulfilling their dreams.
Challenge the Comfort Zone- push yourself to engage in new activities and experiences. Encourage your friends to join you in these challenges to promote personal growth.
Communicate Openly- have honest conversations. Discuss your aspirations and the changes you want to make in your life.
Set Boundaries- for negative influences. If certain relationships or activities are hindering your progress, consider reducing your involvement.
Network Wisely- expand your network to include mentors and individuals who are further along and can provide guidance. Learning from those who have already achieved success can be incredibly valuable.
Embrace Change- as a natural part of personal growth. Recognize that as you evolve, your friendships and activities also need to change.
Set Goals Together- collaborate on setting common goals. Achieving these goals can strengthen your relationships.
Surround yourself with individuals who inspire you to take on new challenges and learn new skills because they will support your growth.
You have the ability to be the creator of your life experience.
II. Money
This concept is not just about vehicles; it's about choices.
How does it relate to your financial journey?
Think of bus friends as individuals who stick to the same financial routines- spending on the same activities they've done for years - the bar on Friday and Saturday, accumulating debt trying to stay hip or impress people they don’t even know.
Not prioritizing savings or investing in assets that grow, content with their financial comfort zone and living to spend their paycheck on the weekends.
Ferrari friends on the other hand, actively seek out financial growth and embrace new challenges. They educate themselves to invest wisely, actively look for opportunities to accumulate assets and understand that financial growth requires making sacrifices and planning properly.
Ferrari friends help you:
Write new financial chapters- change the type of conversations and way of thinking you have with money to attract it, instead of chasing it.
Pay off debt- not by giving you money, but helping you come up with a payment plan to focus on paying down your debt and hold you accountable.
Budgeting- create a budget to control spending or bad habits.
Education - encourage you to educate yourself about personal finance and money management techniques. Read books, take courses, seek a mentor to gain knowledge and confidence.
Challenge yourself- to grow by overcoming something you are struggling with.
To create a life that's more in line with your dreams and aspirations, it's crucial to change the type of conversations and activities you engage in with your friends.
III. Markets

S&P 500 is trying to hold its 200 day moving average, is a flash crash on the horizon? 📉😨
Here are the main points from last week:
Israel-Hamas war has markets on edge. The uncertainty surrounding a potential ground invasion by Israeli forces into Gaza weighed on sentiment.
- President Biden visited Israel and requested more than $105 billion aid from Congress to support the war effort for humanitarian assistance to Ukraine, Israel and Gaza.
Treasury Yields continued to act in a volatile manner; the 10-yr note yield crossed 5.00% at its high last week for the first time since 2007. Not good for risk on assets like stocks and crypto (discussed why here).
Fed Chair Powell's speech at the Economic Club corroborated the popular view of late that the jump in long-term rates has helped to tighten financial conditions, paving the way for the Fed to proceed cautiously.
Dysfunction in the House of Representatives following three failed rounds of voting this week, Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH) lost the status of Speaker of the House nominee after a GOP conference vote went against him by a wide margin.
September Existing Home Sales continue to be squeezed by a confluence of factors:
- Higher mortgage rates and higher prices that are hurting affordability
- Limited supply a lack of mobility due to remote work opportunities
- Disinterest in moving by existing homeowners who are reluctant to give up their low-rate mortgage rate.
🚨 All eyes this week will be on 👀
Earnings from Mega caps: Microsoft (MSFT), Alphabet (GOOGL), Meta Platforms (META), Amazon (AMZN), Visa (V), UPS (UPS), Chipotle (CMG).
Gross Domestic Product GDP: Third-quarter GDP is expected to accelerate sharply to 4.1% annualized growth vs second-quarter growth of 2.1%.
Pending Home Sales Index: Pending home sales in September, which in August fell 7.1%, are expected to rebound a slight 0.2%.
$SPY: gave a big rejection at that 438-440 resistance we wrote about last week and broke its flag to the downside trading to our 420 target. This is a very critical level for Bulls as we can see a flash crash (hard selloff) if SPY fails to hold its 200d m.a. as stop losses get triggered and people start rushing to the exits.

SPY can trade down to 415, 410-408 and 405 as people panic sell.
Our bearish hedge play with SPXU and SQQQ from this video are on and up nicely.

Per the video our next price targets are $13.25-$13.50,$14.50 and $15.75
$QQQ: after several days rejecting that 368 resistance broke its flag down and sold off sharply trading down to our 355 price target. Exactly how we talked about in Office Hours last Monday and spoke about in the hedge video weeks ago. This will be Qs 4th attempt at testing 355 support, the more times it test it, the weaker that support gets.

Break of 355 trades to 348,340,332. Reclaim of 365-370 starts a short squeeze
